Storytellingstories is an experimental combination of show and didgeridoo concert that creates the impression that the music is three-dimensional. In this experiment, elements from the abstract scenery, the characteristic tube-instruments, and the interaction of the performer with scenes from the video create a unique musical story. The didgeridoo is the oldest and most simple wind instrument in the world – and consists of one (wooden) tube. Contrary to belief, in symbiosis with the human body, it is capable of filling a wide range of frequencies, and with the addition of auditory illusions, can create the impression of an invisible orchestra. In this show the didgeridoo is pulled from its original context and is expanded to include “tubes from 1.5 to 10.27 meters,” which is the length of the longest tube in this performance. Two worlds in one room – Stinkirum, travels through Earth – Mandala, thoughts from within the darkness of the mind – Labyrinth, fear of an empty room – Demons….are just some of the stories told by the performance’s main character – the wind. The wind that symbolizes the initiating force of everything that is.
