Basically, Circus of the Wind is...
Creating new worlds of music and stories.
By using our wonderful world, unknown, hidden, and unusual human abilities and talents, and by using that simple tool – the tube.
Why is the didgeridoo called a tube here? Because in its essence, it is! Just as much as I am a man. I investigate our interactions. I am trying to free myself of all
previous knowledge and prejudices. And start with nothing. No abilities, no knowledge, no skills, and no mystique. When everything is put in such a way, I am not left with much.
Tubes, by themselves, don’t say much. There are no words. It is upon me to find words, and to create words if they don’t exist. The tubes are here to help me articulate.
In order to tell my stories through them, I need to recite my songs. And the tubes play their role very well. The tubes here are like an entire circus tent complete with all
trapezes, rings, wild animals, and illusions that every circus has. I am the unstable part of the circus. The circus performers. Thus we, as the Circus of the Wind, do many
things all at the same time. We develop our abilities in breathing, control, synchronization of body parts, and we discover acoustic possibilities within all imaginable and
inventible tubes. We discover how to play these tubes. All of this with the goal of creating a form of music that is not yet known.
In reality we:
- first and foremost play – practice and compose
- perform rehearsed compositions
- create and perform shows
- make didgeridoos for ourselves and for others
- record performances and compositions on CD
- teach others to play
Many people ask me about the didgeridoo. I must admit that my views differ quite a lot from the average, or from what is expected. If requested, I will write about my
interpretation of the didgeridoo world, Aborigines, Australia, mysticism connected with the instrument, music, festivals…The point of this website is not criticism of what
I believe are poorly set concepts. Neither am I interested in praising myself in order to convince visitors I am whom they want to hire, my instruments are what they want to buy,
or I am whom they want to learn from….My goal here is to show you my world as it is, with emphasis on the creative and positive. Then with this, and with your own logic, feelings,
and freedom of choice, you will be able to make your own judgment about me, and your interactions with me.
