WE-ARE:
Circus of the wind.....
Dubravko Lapaine playing the role of a man, lots of tubes playing the role of primitive instruments - didgeridoos…
…and one invisible orchestra
The man – as seen by the tubes:
He enters the scene in his twenties, and from then on his view of, in, and through the tubes changes; transforming with the passing years, to never be the same ever again.
Through these tubes he unites and mixes his worlds of stories, music, mathematics, philosophy, dreams, and acrobatics of the body with which he once functioned.
At the moment, with 28 brim-filled years and one more not so full year, he feels like a very young character in this tube-full story, standing before a whole world just waiting to
be discovered. As a result of this sequence of circumstances, he became the first professional didgeridoo artist in Croatia, and because of this distinctive chance to
become a professional didgeridooist, he left his position as a university assistant and terminated his doctoral studies in mathematics.
The tubes – as seen by the man:
Tubes are a cosmic object that transforms, with the help of peculiar human ideas, into an instrument. Only then can a tube be called a didgeridoo. Actually, it may be the tubes
that use men to show them who they themselves actually are. They are extremely anthropological tools that represent various secrets, hidden, and not obvious assignments.
They are often quiet. They are often restless. Tubes are tubes. To be handled a little and played a lot.
Many tubes reside along side this man. Perhaps in the pages to follow, a story will be told about a few distinguishable ones…
Invisible orchestra??
Yes, it is interesting how someone long ago hid a whole instrument within man, and that most people aren’t even aware of that. Although slightly visible from the outside,
this invisible orchestra is perfectly not seen from within. Its existence, though, is unquestionable. And it comes to unique expression in symbiosis with primitive instruments,
such as with tubes.
